My interest in photography began in 5th grade when I entered a school photo contest. At the time, my family had a very spirited puppy and I was able to capture her enthusiastically playing with her favorite toy. The photo was a winner and photography became my new hobby.
During the summers of my late high school and early college years, I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful photo teacher. He emphasized the importance of making your subject interesting by the way you photograph it. This experience made me realize I wanted photography to become a big part of my life. I now have a BFA in Photography from Texas Woman’s University, and carry my camera everywhere I go.
I have exhibited my work in several shows, including some juried entries. I especially enjoy doing pet photography and taking action portraits from interesting angles. I strive to make the image more personalized and dramatic. I also like to take nature shots from a vantage point that may not be obvious to others.
It’s a great pleasure to see the world through a photographer’s lens, and I want to share that view.
